Esther Barrios is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with a deep commitment to delivering compassionate, quality care across the lifespan. She currently practices in Occupational and Employee Health in Virginia, with previous clinical roles in pediatric hematology/oncology, wound care, maternal/child health, and nursing education.

 

Esther was inspired to join the Kids Join the Fight Board after helping care for Walker during his treatment at Manning Family Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. Walker’s light and joy—always dancing and smiling—left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered, and Esther is honored to continue his legacy by advocating for children and families affected by pediatric cancer.

 

Esther earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina. Throughout her career, Esther has been recognized for excellence in patient care, including being named one of Louisiana’s Great 100 Nurses. She brings a wealth of clinical expertise, a heart for service, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through education, prevention, and collaborative care.
